The Hunter, Kraven's flick, has a villain: actor Alessandro Nivola

Kraven's film, The Hunter, based on one of Marvel's most well-known antiheroes, is progressing well, and after a period of silence, we now have two new cast members, the last of whom is a performer who will play the story's villain.

According to Deadline, the film based on the Marvel character has recruited actor Alessandro Nivola to play the villain in the film directed by JC Chandor, Kraven, the Hunter. Although it is known that he would play Aaron Taylor-nemesis Johnson's in the film, it has not been confirmed which character from the comics he will play.

We've seen Nivola in films like The Great American Swindle and Disobedience, but his most well-known part is as one of the characters in Santos Criminales, a spin-off of The Sopranos that chronicles Tony Soprano's early years as a criminal, played by James Gandolfini's son, Michael Gandolfini.

Nivola's signing is the second for the Kraven picture, the Hunter, this week, after it was announced a few days ago that Ariana DeBose, the star of Steven Spielberg's West Side Story, had also joined the cast in an unspecified role. Although there are whispers that he may bring Calypso, another Marvel villain, to life.

In addition to these two new additions, the Kraven movie, the Hunter, stars Aaron Taylor- Johnson as the protagonist, his second Marvel role after playing Quicksilver in the MCU, Russell Crowe as the main character's father, and Fred Hechinger as Kraven's half-brother, Chameleon.

Despite the fact that the creation of this new Sony film has kept slightly under the radar, it has already begun filming in order to meet its January 13, 2023 release date.
