Tomorrow will be "something fishy," according to the official Resident Evil website

The official Resident Evil Portal website predicts "something suspicious" for tomorrow Tuesday... and the image of the tweet is reminiscent of Resident Evil 4. Is it possible that the remake's announcement came so quickly? hmm...

Tomorrow will be "something fishy," according to the official Resident Evil website

Capcom manipulates our emotions. We awoke this morning to a mystery countdown on a new website, which appears to be teasing the release of a new game and will end next Monday, February 21.

Shortly after, the Resident Evil Portal Twitter account, an OFFICIAL website dedicated to the entire franchise, posted the following, which appeared to be unrelated:

"Wow, there's something fishy going on with the Resident Evil gateway... This appears to be the reason why everyone around me has been working late. Tomorrow at 4 p.m. (JST) - 8:00 p.m. (CEST) - there will be something, and maybe you will enjoy it."

The Resident Evil Portal website will be updated at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, February 15 (Spanish peninsular time). Several theories have been proposed by fans.

On the one hand, several people have pointed out that the shared image strongly matches the Resident Evil 4 choices menu background, which is dark red with black and veiny lines.

The image, on the other hand, is mysterious: while being half-obscured, it is deduced that the website's history part, which has been under construction for a long time, will be updated. Behind the black lines, the initial Resident Evil (Biohazard) logo can be seen, along with the year 1996.

Below, in the "Coming Soon" section, you can see the original Resident Evil 2 logo, along with the year it was released, 1998. So, this "strange thing" may just be a simple website update featuring all of the games in the series, with no advertising or anything.

It's worth noting that Resident Evil has a separate official Twitter account, RE Games, with far more activity than Resident Evil Portal, which is where the big announcements are made, and it hasn't echoed whatever this is.

That leads us to believe that it is nothing more than a routine, and certainly nothing on the scale of Resident Evil 4 Remake, which is what many fans are expecting from the franchise right now, especially after several leaks last week suggested that Capcom might unveil it earlier this year.

We'll find out what's going on tomorrow morning, and hopefully we'll be surprised... but in any case, don't let your guard down! Capcom's other countdown, which concludes in a week, appears to be something significant.
