On February 23, Nier Automata will have a stream to commemorate its fifth anniversary

The Nier saga is one of the most unique and distinct in video game history. Most fans unanimously agree that Nier Automata is the best installment of all time, which is saying a lot.

Nier Automata was released on February 23, 2017 for the PlayStation 4 and was one of Sony's big console exclusives for years. It is currently available on Xbox One and PC as part of the Become As Gods Edition.

The fact is that Nier Automata will be five years old in a few days, and Square Enix has announced (via Gematsu) a special webcast to celebrate the occasion.

This webcast to commemorate Nier Automata's fifth anniversary will take place on February 23 at 10:00 a.m. Spanish peninsular time. Niconico is broadcasting it live (in Japanese, yes).

Producer Yosuke Saito, creative director Yoko Taro, and composer Keiichi Okabe will all be on the webcast, as will the three great figures that made Nier Automata possible.

The event will be split into two sections, according to Square Enix. The first will be available to the public and will feature a conversation about Nier Automata and the story, as well as a raffle and fresh Nier information.

The second part, on the other hand, will be available only to Niconico subscribers. Following Nier Automata, a team Q&A session will take place for a more private, future-focused discussion.

There will be no new information about upcoming Nier games. After the remake of Replicant and the mobile installment of Reincarnation, Yoko Taro assures that the saga is over... though he joked about how much money he would make if he made another game.

One piece of news we'd like to see is a PS5 and Xbox Series X|S optimized version of Nier Automata. Or, who knows, a new edition with some unexpected or new material.

Nier Automata is a PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One (X1), and PC game. Backwards compatibility allows it to be played on next-gen consoles, and the Steam version is already up to par with the Microsoft Store version.
