Virtual reality and the horror franchise get along swimmingly.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil 4 VR have demonstrated that the survival horror series can work effectively in virtual reality. Unfortunately, the vast majority of Capcom games are in third person, making it difficult for Capcom to convert them all to the world of virtual reality. The good news is that there are fans ready to fight to remedy this, and as a result, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes may now be played in virtual reality.
Praydog, a well-known Resident Evil modder, has stated that his mod for Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 that includes a virtual reality option is complete. This allows you to experience Leon, Claire, and Jill's adventures in first-person perspective, as if you were inside their bodies.
It's worth noting that these mods are still in their early stages of development. They do, however, give a more than entertaining experience. We say this because, in addition to allowing you to play in first person, they also allow you to control your movement. You may now point your hands at foes and even throw grenades with the same natural movement as in real life.
The bad news is that not everyone has access to these tweaks. To begin with, you'll need a VR viewer for PC in order to experience these titles in virtual reality. The second issue is that some players believe that running them requires a very strong machine. To give you an idea, a player with an Intel i9 10900 and an RTX 3070 can only play it on low settings at 65 frames per second on average.
If it piques your interest, you have nothing to lose by giving it a shot. The mod can be found on Github.
