One of EA's most brilliant studios is Respawn Entertainment. Another of its iconic games is Apex Legends, which is responsible for Titanfall and the magnificent Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order.

Battle Royale is one of the most popular free PC and console games, albeit owners of the PS5 and Xbox Series X | S may only play it because of backward compatibility with the PS4 and One versions.

This could change in the near future. Respawn could be working on a native next-gen version of their Battle Royale, similar to what Raven did with COD Warzone.

The PlayStation Game Size account has discovered a native version of Apex Legends for PS5 based on data extracted from PSN. We already know how much space it will take up.

Respawn has yet to confirm whether or not this is the case. If it is confirmed to be official, it will be released as a free update for PS4 owners (it can be downloaded from the PS Store).

Apex Legends will be upgraded with an optimized version for PS5, according to PlayStation Game Size, which will improve the graphics and add haptic functions to the Dualsense controller.

In terms of how much space it would take up, Apex Legends for PS5 appears to be around 80GB without any possible launch patches.

As previously stated, the only way to play Apex Legends on PlayStation 5 is to use backward compatibility with the PS4 version. This improves the aesthetics but does not include additional features like as haptic vibration or adaptable triggers.

Apex Legends is likely to be optimized for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S by Respawn. Despite the fact that it hasn't been disclosed, this release is almost certain to happen.

If true, all PS5 owners who own Apex Legends (PS4) would receive a free update, similar to what happened with Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order.

In other words, Respawn is working on a single-player FPS that will focus on the story and will be released in 2024-2025. More information about it can be found here.

Apex Legends is one of the top Battle Royale games on the market right now. It's available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PC, Google Stadia, and Nintendo Switch, and it's completely free to download.
