According to an insider, Persona 6 will be limited to PS5, while Persona 4 Golden will be released in 2022

A fresh rumor claims that Persona 4 Golden will be released this year for PS4 and Nintendo Switch... as well as a future Persona 6 that will be exclusive to PlayStation 5.

According to an insider, Persona 6 will be limited to PS5, while Persona 4 Golden will be released in 2022

After the release of Persona 5 on PS4 and its improved edition Persona 5 Royal, which sold over 5 million copies worldwide, the Persona franchise had never experienced such popularity.

It's not unexpected that Atlus wants to keep releasing games based on the IP, and they're already working on Persona 6, which they hope will "beyond the greatness" of Persona 5.

Persona 6 is in development, according to a rumor provided by Nate the Hate on his podcast, a fairly trustworthy insider, and will once again be a PlayStation exclusive. It would be released on PS5, rather than PS4, and would be a multigenerational title (Persona 5 also came out on PS3).

Atlus will continue to feed the Persona franchise with spin-offs and re-adaptations of prior installments until Persona 6 can be released. The one that stands out the most is a PS4 and Switch port of Persona 4 Golden.

This isn't the first time we've heard of a Persona 4 Golden re-release for Sony and Nintendo's contemporary consoles. Persona 4 Golden will be published on Switch and PS4 in 2022, according to Nate.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, a fighting game spin-off of Persona 4, is confirmed for this year (and will be released in March). It will be available on PC, PS4, and Switch. It's odd that Atlus wants to release the spin-port off's before the main game's port, but this way you can get to know the characters.

Persona 4 Golden was released in 2012 for the PS Vita as an extended version of Persona 4, which was released for the PS2 in 2008.

If this rumor is genuine, the Persona saga will keep its PlayStation exclusivity for the launch of its main installments. Shin Megami Tensei, on the other hand, is a sister series whose current installment was released specifically for Switch.
