What is the year's most popular sport? Every user will have a favorite, as well as the surprises and disappointments of the previous twelve months. The Game Awards gala will declare its own on December 9 between Deathloop, Metroid Dread -the first Spanish creation to receive this nomination-, It Takes Two, Ratchet & Clank: Una Dimensión Apart, Resident Evil 8, and Psychonauts 2. Phil Spencer, the CEO of Xbox, prefers the latter.

In an interview with Larry Hyrb, ""Honestly for me [Psychonauts 2] is definitely my game of the year, it's a terrific game," Spencer said in response to numerous Xbox hot topics. It is, in my opinion as a Double Fine fan, the best game they have ever released." In 2019, Microsoft bought the team, and Psychonauts 2 is now available for purchase on Xbox Series, Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4, as well as as part of the Xbox Game Pass subscription.

The manager also recalls playing the original before the sequel because of backward compatibility, and being astonished at how well it stands up to the test of time -it was published in 2005, but wouldn't arrive in Spain until a year later-.

One of the nominees for the GOTY awards

"This sequel appears to us without a doubt to be one of Double Fine's rounder works, an action adventure and platforms game with a nice and careful story and an overflowing imagination, and it is a delight for lovers of this type of adventure, which nowadays does not abound, and those of us who enjoy the humorous and unforgettable LucasArts games," we write in the analysis. "Now that Double Fine does not have to worry about funding their next project, as they did in the past, we think that the best of this study is yet to come, as they have proved with Psychonauts 2, they are highly brilliant and capable of truly ambitious projects."
