2K Games, a Take-Two Interactive publishing firm, has announced the acquisition of two Valencia-based Spanish studios, elite3d and Turia Games. The purchase price for both companies has not been disclosed, but it has been revealed what will happen to them in the future: they will join the 31st Union, a study formerly known as 2K Silicon Valley that has already announced its plan to create a new office in Spain.

Employees of Elite3d will be part of two new brands: on the one hand, 31st Union Valencia will be established, a study that will collaborate in the triple A that the company founded by veteran Michael Condrey is developing and about which no details have been released, and on the other hand, 2K Publishing Valencia will be established, a studio that will participate in 2K Games' internal projects in fields such as animation, art, motion capture, and other as yet unannounced.

Together with the teams from London, Texas, Novato, and Montréal, the latter group will create 2K Global Services. The elite3d headquarters will remain the same, serving as the workplace for both teams, although being divided into two new companies. 31st Union, for its part, has welcomed the new staff on its official blog and social media platforms:

Elite3d has joined the 31st Union family, and we are delighted to have them! @ 31unionofficial will work as a one worldwide team to achieve our common goal of creating an amazing new game universe. #gamedevs #valencia #spain #gratitude #hype #JOY https://t.co/6o10l2FVbz pic.twitter.com/M5z23F0kPD - November 9, 2021 - 31st Union (@ 31UnionOfficial)

Elite3d was founded in 2005 by Oscar Ferrero and Jose Luis Queral, and has since specialized in the technical aspect of development, collaborating on the creation of content for games such as Diablo II Resurrected, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Hitman 3, and Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, to name a few. They've also collaborated on 2K Games titles like Mafia III, a partnership that has aided their assimilation into the company.

"As we watch our initial idea come reality, we are incredibly proud to have formed a team that is currently at the forefront of our creative expertise. We are confident in 2K's vision, people, and products, and we can't wait to take this exciting next step in our careers as 2K and 31st Union employees "elite3d's founders stated in a statement.
