Capcom Launches Official 20th Anniversary Website for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

Capcom launched the official website for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney's twentieth anniversary on October 12th. The original GBA version of the same name, which described Phoenix's roots in the judicial realm, was released twenty years ago, and the anthological series of graphic novels based on advocacy is twenty years old.

According to the web portal, which contains a statement from the creators thanking their dedicated audience for their continued support, there will be news and projects relating to the anniversary in the near future. Despite the developers' assurances that they will continue to support the Ace Attorney series in the future, no video game announcement has been confirmed or planned. However, we'll have to wait for new compilations or the long-awaited Ace Attorney 7, which will be the numbered sequel to Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice.

What can we expect from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney's 20th anniversary?

The release of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles this summer on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC - which includes the two TGA installments, Adventures and Resolve - was a ray of hope for fans who have been waiting for the seventh installment since the release of the last canonical installment for the Nintendo 3DS. The western launch of Phoenix Wright's ancestor Ryunosuke Naruhodo's two episodes was a pleasant surprise. We're talking about games that were exclusively released in Japan in 2015 and 2017.

Is this to say that we shouldn't give up on more compilations? For the near future, the neighborhood has two major signals. On the one hand, a collection of the original Nintendo DS spin-off Miles Edgeworth (the second was only available in Japan), as well as the two Ace Attorney: Investigations games.

Similarly, after the Ace Attorney Trilogy (which includes the three installments of the original trilogy), it's likely that we'll see a second trilogy compilation with Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney (4), Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies (5), and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice at some point in the future (6).

Perhaps the optimum moment for that numbered seventh chapter of the story would be after the release of the second trilogy. Meanwhile, the future is a mystery.
